Laura Gayton, CNM
Meet our newest Midwife Laura G. Gayton! She started with NWWC May 1, 2016.
Laura G. Gayton, RN, MS, CNM joined NWWC in May of 2016.
Laura Gayton is a native of the Pacific Northwest. She studied biology at the University of Oregon (go Ducks!). After discovering midwifery, she received her nursing and midwifery degrees from Oregon Health & Science University. Like Lydia Hammond and J Baron at NWWC, she has spent time serving on the rural Navajo Reservation in Northern Arizona where she enjoyed learning from and serving women from two different Native American cultures, the Hopi and Navajo.
Laura loves working with people as they make their way through life, grow their families, and work to be as healthy and happy as possible. She respects patients’ abilities to make their own decisions and loves to give them the tools to be partners in their own care. She understands that every woman and every family has their own unique approach to their care, and seeks to facilitate the best experience for each patient and their family.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her partner, family and friends. She loves hiking, birding, and running, and, of course, putting a bird on things.
